Lloyds Metals and Energy has received credit ratings from India Ratings and Research. The company has been assigned an issuer rating of IND AA with a Stable outlook, which was affirmed. Bank loan facilities worth Rs. 1,000 crore were affirmed at IND AA/Stable, while fresh bank loan facilities of Rs. 7,503 crore were assigned the same rating along with IND A1+ for short-term facilities. Non-convertible debentures worth Rs. 2,500 crore were also affirmed at IND AA/Stable. The detailed annexure shows total rated bank facilities exceeding Rs. 8,500 crore across lenders like ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, SBI, EXIM Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, RBL Bank, and CSB Bank, along with a proposed term loan of Rs. 4,368 crore and proposed NCDs of Rs. 1,900 crore still to be drawn.
An IND AA rating with Stable outlook is a strong high-investment-grade rating, signalling good financial health and low default risk for lenders and bondholders. The affirmation of existing ratings and assignment of new ones for large proposed facilities suggests the company is actively expanding its debt footprint, likely to fund growth. Shareholders can take this as a positive credit signal, though rising debt levels should be watched.
