Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services reported Q1 FY26 disbursements of approximately Rs. 12,800 crore, up just 1% year-on-year excluding finance lease, indicating sluggish loan growth. Business Assets stood at around Rs. 1,21,800 crore, a healthy 15% jump over June 2024, showing the loan book continues to expand even as new lending slows. Collection Efficiency improved to 95% from 94% a year ago, a positive sign on asset quality. However, Stage-3 (NPA) assets edged up to 3.8-3.9% from 3.7% at March 2025, signalling mild asset quality stress. The company maintains a strong liquidity buffer of over Rs. 9,600 crore on its balance sheet.
Mixed signals for shareholders — strong AUM growth and improving collections are positive, but weak disbursement momentum and a slight uptick in NPAs suggest caution. Stock may react neutrally to mildly negatively unless growth picks up in coming quarters.
