CARE Ratings Limited has reaffirmed the highest credit rating of 'CARE AAA; Stable' across all debt instruments of Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Limited on 26th September 2025. The reaffirmed instruments include Secured Non-convertible Debentures of Rs. 12,343.50 crore, Subordinate Debt (Public Issue) of Rs. 933 crore, Unsecured Non-convertible Debentures of Rs. 1,000 crore, Subordinate Debt (Privately Placed) of Rs. 2,485 crore, and Long-term Debt Program of Rs. 4,059.03 crore. The rated amounts on Secured NCDs and Privately Placed Subordinate Debt have reduced from previous levels (Rs. 14,288.50 cr to Rs. 12,343.50 cr, and Rs. 2,760 cr to Rs. 2,485 cr respectively) purely because those facilities were repaid or matured, not due to any rating change. AAA/Stable is the highest investment-grade rating, indicating the strongest ability to meet financial obligations.
This is a neutral-to-positive signal for shareholders. The reaffirmation of the highest AAA rating reflects continued strong creditworthiness and low default risk. The reduction in outstanding rated amounts due to scheduled repayments suggests healthy debt management, though it also means a slightly lower interest expense going forward.
