Madhusudan Industries has published its unaudited Q1 FY26 results in The Indian Express (English) and The Financial Express (Gujarati). Total income from operations was Rs 31.96 lakhs, almost flat compared to Rs 31.00 lakhs in Q1 FY25 and much lower than the full-year FY25 figure of Rs 127.07 lakhs. Net profit after tax stood at Rs 226.80 lakhs, down from Rs 307.24 lakhs in Q1 FY25 but a sharp turnaround from the Rs 39.15 lakh loss reported for the full year FY25. Basic and diluted EPS was Rs 4.22 versus Rs 5.72 in the year-ago quarter. Equity share capital remains Rs 268.75 lakhs with reserves of about Rs 2,516.84 lakhs.
Operating revenue is very small and barely changed, so the bulk of the profit appears to come from non-operating income, which makes earnings quality look weak. Year-on-year profit declined roughly 26% even though the company moved from a full-year FY25 loss to a quarterly profit, offering only a mixed signal for shareholders.
