Magenta Lifecare Ltd, a household furnishings company listed on BSE SME in June 2024, reported FY25 revenue from operations of Rs. 1,018.35 lakhs, up about 16% from Rs. 876.28 lakhs in FY24. However, profit after tax collapsed roughly 89% to just Rs. 8.28 lakhs from Rs. 73.85 lakhs, pushing EPS down to Rs. 0.12 from Rs. 1.52. Total expenses ballooned to Rs. 1,070.37 lakhs, driven by sharply higher raw material costs, leaving profit before tax at a thin Rs. 6.71 lakhs. The company also burned Rs. 414.71 lakhs in operating cash (worse than Rs. 98.13 lakhs last year), and trade receivables more than doubled to Rs. 447.21 lakhs. The statutory auditor issued an unmodified (clean) opinion on the results.
Despite topline growth, severe margin compression and deeply negative operating cash flow signal weak earnings quality and rising working capital stress, which is negative for shareholders. The clean audit opinion is a small positive, but the near-90% PAT collapse is likely to weigh on the stock.
