Acuité Ratings has reaffirmed its long-term rating of ACUITE BB | Stable on Magnum Ventures' Rs. 180 crore Non-Convertible Debentures, with the outlook remaining Stable. The rating reflects improved EBITDA margins (19.64% in FY25 vs 11.68% in FY24) and better gearing (0.97x vs 1.29x), but operating income dropped 14% to Rs. 396.24 crore and PAT nearly halved to Rs. 9.50 crore, largely due to the 18% interest cost on existing NCDs. The company plans to raise a fresh Rs. 240 crore NCD to refinance Rs. 170 crore of debt (lowering coupon and extending tenure), fund Rs. 40 crore capex in the paper segment, and meet Rs. 30 crore working capital needs, alongside a separate Rs. 90 crore capex plan targeted by end of FY26.
The rating stays in speculative/junk territory (BB), so borrowing costs will remain elevated, though the planned NCD refinancing could ease interest burden over time. Shareholders should note the falling revenue and sharp drop in profit, balanced by margin recovery and a moderate financial profile with adequate liquidity.
