The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved extending the additional charge of the post of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of MTNL held by Shri A. Robert J. Ravi, who is the current CMD of BSNL, for a further three months from 15 July 2025 to 14 October 2025. This extension is until the regular incumbent assumes charge, or until further orders, whichever is earliest. No additional remuneration will be paid to him for holding this additional charge. MTNL continues to function under an interim CMD arrangement with the same person overseeing both BSNL and MTNL.
This is a temporary leadership arrangement with no change in executive direction or strategy. The lack of a permanent CMD appointment may continue to create some uncertainty around long-term decision-making at MTNL, but the immediate operational stability is maintained for the next quarter.
