MTNL, a Government of India telecom enterprise, announced that two Government Nominee Directors, Shri Sunil Kumar Ranjan (DDG, DoT) and Shri Alok Shukla (Advisor, DoT), have ceased to be on the board effective July 8, 2026, following withdrawal of their nomination by the Department of Telecommunications. They have been replaced by Shri Shyamal Misra (Additional Secretary, Telecom, DoT) and Shri K Balaji (Joint Secretary Administration, DoT) as new Government Nominee Directors, ex-officio, with immediate effect. Since MTNL is a central PSU, board changes are routine administrative actions directed by the parent ministry.
