Mahindra & Mahindra reported April 2026 sales of 95,276 units, up from 92,631 units in April 2025, representing approximately 2.9% year-on-year growth. Production stood at 87,683 units compared to 82,281 units in the prior year period. Export volumes saw significant improvement, rising 47% to 5,007 units from 3,401 units. Electric vehicle sales showed strong momentum, with the Electric Origin SUV nearly doubling sales from 2,991 to 6,023 units. The new XUV7XO models have launched successfully with combined sales of 8,629 units. The XUV700 appears to have been discontinued or replaced by the XUV7XO with zero production/sales recorded for the former. Three-wheeler sales, particularly the Treo and Udo electric variants, contributed substantially to volumes.
The overall sales growth and strong export performance indicate healthy demand for Mahindra's utility vehicles, especially in the electric SUV segment. The significant jump in exports could positively impact revenue from hard currency markets. Shareholders may view the results cautiously given the model transition from XUV700 to XUV7XO.
