Mahindra & Mahindra reported its April 2025 vehicle numbers. Total production rose to 85,925 units from 71,445 units in April 2024, up about 20% year-on-year. Total domestic sales grew to 80,789 units from 68,614 units, a rise of nearly 18% YoY. Exports jumped sharply to 3,381 units from 1,857 units, up about 82% YoY. The newly launched Electric Origin SUV (BE 6/XEV 9e) contributed 2,991 units to sales, while the XUV3XO petrol nearly tripled its sales to 5,344 units. Some legacy models like Bolero (8,380 vs 9,537) and Scorpio-petrol saw a YoY decline, but the overall portfolio momentum is positive across SUVs and three-wheelers.
Broad-based YoY growth in production, domestic sales and exports — especially the 82% export jump and strong start for the new electric SUV — signals healthy demand and is mildly positive for the stock. Watch for consistency over coming months before drawing stronger conclusions.
