Mahindra & Mahindra has informed shareholders about the TDS/withholding tax provisions for the FY 2025-26 dividend. The Board recommended a dividend of Rs. 33 per equity share (660% on Rs. 5 face value) for the year ended March 31, 2026. The dividend will be paid after July 30, 2026, subject to shareholder approval at the 80th AGM. For resident shareholders with valid PAN, TDS will be deducted at 10%; those without PAN or with unlinked PAN-Aadhaar will face 20% TDS. Resident individuals can claim exemption if total dividend does not exceed Rs. 10,000 or by submitting Form 121. Non-resident shareholders will be taxed at 20% plus surcharge and cess, with options to claim DTAA benefits. Shareholders must submit required tax exemption documents by June 26, 2026.
The dividend declaration indicates healthy cash flows and consistent shareholder returns. Shareholders should ensure their PAN is linked with Aadhaar and submit relevant tax exemption forms by the deadline to avoid higher TDS deductions.
