Maithan Alloys reported its Q1 FY26 standalone results on August 13, 2025. Revenue from operations jumped to ₹653.72 Cr from ₹438.81 Cr in Q1 FY25, a sharp ~49% YoY rise. Standalone profit after tax rose to ₹541.99 Cr (vs ₹459.43 Cr, up ~18%) and EPS stood at ₹186.18. However, a large chunk of the profit comes from a ₹636.57 Cr fair value gain on investments booked under 'Other Income' rather than core ferro alloy operations. Consolidated revenue from operations grew ~18% YoY to ₹648.86 Cr with PAT of ₹537.90 Cr. The company also disclosed a new Real Estate segment alongside Ferro Alloys, acquisitions of Goldtree Impex (80%) and new subsidiaries in food processing (Maithan Fresh, Maithan Nutrition), a ₹25.10 Cr capital contribution to Maiuni Ventures LLP, and a merger scheme filed with NCLT to absorb Impex Metal & Ferro Alloys.
Headline profit growth looks impressive but is largely inflated by one-time mark-to-market gains on investments, not core manufacturing performance. Strong revenue growth in ferro alloys is the real positive signal, while the proposed merger, new subsidiaries, and capital reduction at Anjaney Minerals could reshape the group structure. Shareholders should watch whether operating profit sustains without the investment windfall.
