Mantra Capital Ltd (formerly Savani Financials Limited) reported its Q1 FY26 results. Total revenue surged to Rs. 248.47 lakhs from Rs. 17.54 lakhs in the same quarter last year, driven by interest income (Rs. 182.58 lakhs), fees and commission (Rs. 32.89 lakhs), and gains on fair value changes (Rs. 21.30 lakhs). However, total expenses jumped to Rs. 506.61 lakhs, mainly due to employee costs (Rs. 296.09 lakhs) and legal & professional expenses (Rs. 80.92 lakhs). The company posted a loss after tax of Rs. 255.52 lakhs, wider than the Rs. 159.14 lakh loss in Q1 FY25. Loss per share stood at Rs. 0.80. For the full FY25, the company had reported a loss of Rs. 878.60 lakhs. The auditor's review report is clean with no qualifications.
Despite a sharp rise in revenue on a small base, the company continues to post widening quarterly losses, which is a concern for shareholders. The name change to Mantra Capital and pending approvals from RoC are administrative and unlikely to move the stock on their own.
