Market wrap: Eternal, HDFC Bank, Infosys among top gainers and losers on Nifty and Sensex on Monday

Sensex closed 776 points higher at 76,836 while Nifty 50 gained over 228 points to 23,996 on Monday, adding nearly Rs 5.10 lakh crore to BSE's total market capitalisation which rose to Rs 481 lakh crore. Eternal, HDFC Bank and Infosys were among the top movers on the indices. The rally was driven by easing West Asia tensions lowering crude prices, declining long-term bond yields, narrowing rainfall deficit, and better-than-expected Q1 earnings, with key Fed, BoE and BoJ meetings lined up this week.
