Maruti Suzuki reported total sales of 179,791 units in April 2025, up about 7% from 168,089 units in April 2024. Domestic sales rose modestly to 142,053 units from 140,448 units, with passenger vehicle sales at 138,704 units versus 137,952 units a year ago. Exports jumped nearly 26% to 27,911 units, and sales to other OEMs grew sharply to 9,827 units from 5,481 units. The utility vehicle segment (Brezza, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Jimny etc.) led growth at 59,022 units, while the mini segment (Alto, S-Presso) continued to decline to 6,332 units. Light commercial vehicle sales also rose to 3,349 units from 2,496 units.
Overall a mildly positive monthly update — broad-based growth in UVs, LCVs, exports and OEM sales offset weakness in the entry-level mini cars. Investors will likely focus on the strong export and OEM momentum, though the persistent slide in the mini segment signals continued pressure on the low-end of the market.
