Maruti Suzuki has commenced commercial production at its second plant in Kharkhoda, Haryana, effective 18th May 2026. This new plant adds 250,000 units per annum capacity, bringing the total Kharkhoda facility to 500,000 units. The first plant at Kharkhoda had started production in February 2025. With this expansion, Maruti's overall annual production capacity now stands at 2.65 million units across Gurugram, Manesar, Hansalpur, and Kharkhoda facilities. The Kharkhoda facility was a greenfield project with its foundation stone laid by the Prime Minister in August 2022, and once fully operational, it will be among Suzuki's largest four-wheeler manufacturing locations with 1 million units capacity.
This capacity expansion strengthens Maruti Suzuki's manufacturing capability and positions the company to capture higher market share through increased production volumes. The additional capacity aligns with the company's FY 2026-27 growth plan and should support future revenue growth.
