Maruti Suzuki reported 8.4% volume growth and 20.2% revenue growth for FY26, with total sales of 2.42 million units. Q4 FY26 showed stronger momentum with 11.8% volume growth and 28.9% revenue growth year-on-year. However, profitability margins compressed significantly - operating EBITDA margin declined from 13.9% to 12.3% for FY26 due to rising material costs (up 210 bps). PBT for FY26 fell 2.8% despite higher revenue, impacted by higher commodity prices and lower non-operating income. Exports performed exceptionally well, growing 34.6% for FY26 and 61.3% in Q4, while domestic SUV sales rose 14.9% in Q4. Suzuki Motor Gujarat amalgamation with MSIL was completed from December 2025.
The margin compression despite strong revenue growth signals cost pressures that could weigh on near-term profitability and may concern investors focused on earnings quality. The strong export growth and SUV segment strength partially offset these concerns.
