Mawana Sugars reported FY25 consolidated revenue of Rs. 1,446.49 crore, up about 6.7% from Rs. 1,355.09 crore in FY24. Consolidated profit after tax jumped to Rs. 109.42 crore from Rs. 37.65 crore, helped by a one-time gain of Rs. 62.70 crore from the sale of its stake in Siel Industrial Estate and Siel Infrastructure. On a standalone basis, PAT rose around 68% to Rs. 71.40 crore on revenue of Rs. 1,445.09 crore. The board recommended a final dividend of Rs. 1 per share, taking total FY25 dividend to Rs. 4 per share (40%). The board also approved the amalgamation of wholly owned subsidiary Mawana Foods with itself and the acquisition of the 'MAWANA' brand from a related party for Rs. 5.75 crore.
Healthy earnings growth and a 40% dividend payout are positive for shareholders, though a large chunk of the profit surge came from a one-time exceptional gain rather than core operations. The subsidiary merger and brand acquisition should simplify the group structure and strengthen the core sugar business.
