Max Financial Services reported consolidated revenue (ex-investment income) of Rs 6,194 crore, up 18% YoY, with consolidated PAT at Rs 86 crore for Q1 FY'26. Axis Max Life Insurance, its key subsidiary, posted strong growth with Individual Adjusted FYP at Rs 1,553 crore (up 23% vs private industry growth of 8%), private market share rising to 10.0% (up 121 bps), and Total APE growing 15%. Value creation metrics improved notably with VNB at Rs 335 crore (up 32% YoY) and New Business Margin expanding to 20.1% from 17.5% in Q1 FY'25. AUM crossed Rs 1.83 lakh crore, solvency ratio remained healthy at 199%, and the company maintained industry-leading claims paid ratio of 99.70%. Distribution strength was highlighted with 15 new partners onboarded and banca channel APE growing 16%.
Strong Q1 performance with industry-beating growth, expanding margins, and rising market share is positive for shareholders. VNB growth of 32% and NBM expansion of 260 bps suggest improving profitability per unit of new business, while solvency at 199% provides capital strength for future growth. The lower PBT of Rs 74 cr vs Rs 151 cr is a watch point, reflecting higher new business strain from growth investments.
