The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has passed orders dated May 21, 2026 in favour of various Max Healthcare network hospitals, holding that no case of abuse of dominant position under Section 4 of the Competition Act, 2002 is made out against them. The matters have been closed with no adverse order. This concludes an investigation that began in August 2018 when CCI directed the Director General to re-investigate the healthcare industry regarding pricing of medicines, packages and consumables in Delhi. After considering the supplementary investigation report, objections, and submissions from the hospitals, CCI rejected the DG's findings and cleared the company.
Positive development for shareholders as the company has been cleared of antitrust allegations. This removes regulatory uncertainty and a potential overhang on the stock.
