Mcleod Russel accepted a sanction letter from National Asset Reconstruction Company Ltd (NARCL) on April 9, 2026 for restructuring its debt. NARCL represents ~75.02% of total lenders by value as of Dec 31, 2025; talks with the remaining 24.98% lenders are ongoing. The company must pay sustainable debt of Rs. 1,050 crores by February 15, 2029. Additionally, NARCL will receive 10% new equity shares on a fully diluted basis via conversion of unsustainable debt and pledge of promoter shareholding.
Restructuring eases near-term stress, but 10% equity dilution and a 3-year repayment window signal ongoing financial challenges for shareholders.
