Meesho Ltd invested approximately Rs. 100 crore (Rs. 99,99,99,681) into its subsidiary Meesho Payments Private Limited (MPPL) by subscribing to 30,58,103 equity shares at Re. 1 face value plus Rs. 326 premium per share, via a rights issue. The investment was completed on May 8, 2026. MPPL is a Lending Service Provider (LSP) that facilitates credit for buyers and sellers on the Meesho platform. The subsidiary's turnover grew significantly from Rs. 19.95 lakhs in FY24 to Rs. 1,104.65 lakhs in FY26, though it remains loss-making with a net loss of Rs. 2,471.67 lakhs. The transaction was done at arm's length based on an independent valuation. Meesho's shareholding in MPPL remains unchanged at 99.99%.
The parent company continues to fund its loss-making payments subsidiary at a stable 99.99% stake. No change in Meesho's equity holding or control. The ~Rs. 100 crore outflow supports MPPL's growth and regulatory compliance as a lending service provider.
