Meesho Limited has invested Rs. 99,99,99,681 (approximately Rs. 100 crore) in its subsidiary Meesho Payments Private Limited (MPPL) by subscribing to 30,58,103 equity shares at Re. 1 face value plus Rs. 326 premium per share through a rights issue. The shares were allotted on May 8, 2026. MPPL is a Lending Service Provider that facilitates credit to buyers and sellers on the Meesho platform. For FY26, MPPL reported turnover of Rs. 1,104.65 lakhs but with a net loss of Rs. 2,471.67 lakhs. The investment aims to support MPPL's business growth, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The transaction was conducted at arm's length based on an independent valuation report and will not change Meesho's 99.99% shareholding in MPPL.
This is an intra-group capital infusion to support a loss-making subsidiary's growth, with no change in parent's ownership stake. Minimal direct impact on Meesho's stock, but signals continued investment in the fintech/credit facilitation business within the Meesho ecosystem.
