Micron, GM sign semiconductor supply agreement for vehicles

Micron and General Motors have signed a long-term semiconductor supply agreement covering memory and storage chips for vehicles, along with collaboration on future technologies. Micron said the deal is one of 16 strategic customer agreements outlined during its third quarter and will be supported by its expanding U.S. manufacturing footprint, including a modernized memory chip plant in Virginia. DRAM prices have risen about 70% since December, driven by surging AI-related data center demand, tightening supply for automakers that increasingly rely on memory chips for ADAS and infotainment systems.
