Milkfood Ltd reported a weak H1 FY26 with revenue from operations falling to Rs 14,771 lakhs from Rs 17,645 lakhs in H1 FY25, a decline of about 16%. The company swung to a net loss of Rs 855 lakhs in H1 FY26 against a profit of Rs 149 lakhs a year ago, and posted a standalone Q2 loss of Rs 786 lakhs versus a profit of Rs 90 lakhs in Q2 FY25. EPS for the quarter turned negative at Rs (3.22). The auditor issued a modified opinion, flagging a Rs 251 lakh reduction in depreciation due to a retrospective revision in vehicle useful life that overstated other income. Management blamed exceptionally heavy rains for the Q2 sales hit and said it expects to recover in the peak season. The board also granted 12.18 lakh ESOPs (fair value Rs 409 lakhs) under the Employee Stock Option Plan 2024.
Shareholders face a loss-making quarter, falling revenues, and a modified audit opinion, which could weigh on sentiment. Total borrowings of around Rs 12,420 lakhs against equity of Rs 16,897 lakhs and weak cash generation increase financial risk, though management expects a seasonal recovery.
