Milkfood Ltd reported a weak set of numbers for Q2 FY26. Revenue from operations fell to Rs 7,405 lakhs from Rs 8,040 lakhs in the year-ago quarter, and H1 FY26 revenue dropped to Rs 14,771 lakhs versus Rs 17,645 lakhs in H1 FY25. The company swung to a net loss of Rs 786 lakhs in Q2 (against a profit of Rs 90 lakhs last year) and a loss of Rs 855 lakhs for H1 (against a profit of Rs 149 lakhs). Total expenses rose to Rs 8,201 lakhs and finance costs increased to Rs 349 lakhs. Management blamed the steep revenue dip on 'exceptional heavy rains' and said it expects to recoup sales in the peak season. The statutory auditor issued a modified review report, flagging a Rs 251 lakh one-time credit from revising the useful life of vehicles (which understated the loss) and an emphasis of matter covering trade receivables, supplier advances, security deposits, GST, and other income. Contingent liabilities stand at Rs 4,632 lakhs, including a Rs 1,896 lakh GST demand under appeal.
The sharp swing to a loss and declining revenue are negative for the stock in the short term. The modified auditor opinion, large contingent liabilities, and ongoing GST dispute add further risk, though the company's view that the weakness is weather-driven and recoverable in the peak season may provide some support.
