M M Rubber Company Limited, a latex foam mattress manufacturer based in Bangalore, posted revenue of about Rs. 41 crore in FY25, up marginally from Rs. 40.99 crore last year. However, the company swung to a loss of Rs. 165.31 lakhs in FY25, though this is a significant improvement from the Rs. 368.35 lakh loss in FY24. Management blamed the weak performance on rising latex raw material costs, competition from unorganized and global players, and inability to pass on price hikes despite higher advertising and dealer scheme spends. No dividend was declared. The company is now exploring new business avenues with automobile and tyre manufacturers. The AGM is set for September 25, 2025 via video conferencing, with items including the appointment of a new secretarial auditor and two new independent directors.
Shareholders should note a second consecutive year of losses and no dividend, though the loss has narrowed meaningfully. The pivot toward automotive/tyre clients could be a positive long-term catalyst, but near-term profitability remains uncertain given the competitive pressure in the mattress business.
