Crisil has revised the outlook on MMP Industries' long-term bank facilities to 'Positive' from 'Stable', while reaffirming the BBB+ rating. The short-term rating has also been reaffirmed at A2. The upgrade reflects improving business risk profile, with operating income rising to Rs 468 crore in 9M FY25 from Rs 418 crore in the year-ago period, and full-year FY25 revenue expected at Rs 675-700 crore versus Rs 579 crore in FY24. Operating margin improved to 9.69% in 9M FY25 from 7.67%, supported by better capacity utilisation and cost control. The company has a healthy financial risk profile with low debt (adjusted debt/networth of 0.37x) and adequate liquidity, and plans capacity expansion in aluminium products plus a Rs 25 crore solar power investment.
Positive for shareholders — the outlook upgrade signals Crisil's confidence in sustained revenue growth and profitability, which could support valuation. However, the company is planning Rs 80-90 crore of debt-funded capex over 2-3 years for LT power cables, which may modestly increase leverage going forward.
