MMP Industries reported Q1FY26 consolidated revenue of ₹1,837 Mn, up 18% year-on-year but down 18% quarter-on-quarter, while profit after tax swung to a loss of ₹54 Mn from a profit of ₹113 Mn a year ago. EBITDA fell 25% YoY to ₹131 Mn with margins compressing to 7.14% from 11.28%, largely due to a fire accident at its Umred aluminium powder plant that halted production for nearly 50 days and caused an estimated ₹17.29 Cr in losses (partly covered by insurance). Despite the disruption, aluminium foils (+69% YoY) and conductors (+57% YoY) segments delivered strong growth, and the company reiterated guidance of lower double-digit revenue growth for FY26 with a stronger second half.
Negative near-term sentiment is likely as the fire incident pushed the company into a quarterly loss and hurt powder volumes, but insurance coverage on asset and inventory losses plus management's confident H2FY26 recovery guidance may limit the downside. The stock could remain range-bound until Umred output normalises and the new capex projects (cables, insulators, solar) start contributing meaningfully.
