Modern Dairies Limited reported its Q3 FY26 (quarter ended 31 December 2025) results. Revenue from operations stood at Rs 8,748 Lacs for the quarter, up 6.7% year-on-year but down about 1.4% versus the immediately preceding quarter. For the nine months ended December 2025, revenue was Rs 24,774 Lacs versus Rs 25,703 Lacs in the same period last year, a decline of about 3.6%. Profit before tax and exceptional items was Rs 162 Lacs for Q3 (down from Rs 208 Lacs in the year-ago quarter) and Rs 579 Lacs for the nine-month period (down from Rs 914 Lacs last year), reflecting clear margin compression. Profit after tax for Q3 came in at Rs 121.65 Lacs versus Rs 169 Lacs in Q2 FY26. The company also made an additional provision of Rs 15.75 Lacs towards the disputed Milk Cess, taking total provision to Rs 21.74 Crore against a Rs 544.31 Crore demand from the Haryana government, with the matter still pending before the Supreme Court.
Profitability is weakening with margins compressing and 9-month revenue declining, while the disputed Rs 544 Crore Milk Cess demand remains a significant legal and financial overhang for shareholders.
