MOIL Limited, a Government of India enterprise, has revised prices of various grades of manganese ore and other products effective from May 1, 2025. Prices of Ferro grades with Mn-44% and above have been cut by 5%, while other Ferro grades below Mn-44% have been cut by 10%. SMGR grades (Mn-30% and Mn-25%) saw the steepest cut at 15%, and chemical grades, manganese ore fines, SMGR Mn-20%, and metal Mandi Fines were reduced by 10% each. Only the basic price of Electrolytic Manganese Dioxide (EMD) at Rs. 2,05,000 per metric tonne remains unchanged from April 2025 levels.
Across-the-board price reductions are likely to negatively impact MOIL's realisations and revenue per tonne for May 2025, potentially weighing on quarterly earnings. This signals weaker manganese ore pricing momentum, which may concern shareholders looking at near-term profitability.
