Monotype India's board, meeting on 28th May 2025, approved audited financial results for Q4 and FY ended 31st March 2025 with an unmodified opinion from statutory auditor M/s B.M. Gattani & Co. FY25 total income surged to Rs. 6,200.33 lakhs from Rs. 1,059.67 lakhs in FY24, with profit after tax rising to Rs. 1,256.35 lakhs (vs Rs. 926.73 lakhs) and EPS at Rs. 0.17 (vs Rs. 0.13). Q4 FY25 revenue stood at Rs. 1,354.60 lakhs with profit of Rs. 662.80 lakhs. The board also appointed M/s Suprabhat & Co. as Secretarial Auditor for a 5-year term (FY26–FY30) and M/s Abhishek R Jain & Co. as Internal Auditor for FY26. Notably, the company wrote off Rs. 287.78 lakhs as bad debt after broker Guiness Securities was declared a defaulter by NSE and became untraceable. Other equity remains deeply negative at Rs. (7,195.99) lakhs.
Despite sharp revenue and profit growth, shareholders should note the persistent negative other equity position and the Guiness Securities-related bad debt write-off, which reflects legacy counterparty risk. The auditor appointments are routine compliance moves and unlikely to move the stock on their own.
