Motisons Jewellers reported audited full-year results for FY2026 with total income of Rs 4,958.37 Crore, up 88.7% from Rs 2,628.51 Crore in FY2025. However, this surge is partly due to the prior year being a short/partial year as the company transitioned to IND AS and may have had an abnormal base. Net profit after tax grew 47.6% to Rs 637.08 Crore vs Rs 431.71 Crore, while EPS stands at Rs 0.65 per share. The company recognized an exceptional income of Rs 30.25 Lakh from forfeiture of unexercised share warrants. Inventories increased to Rs 5,444.97 Crore from Rs 4,779.88 Crore, reflecting higher gold stock holding. Cash flow from operations turned positive at Rs 274.58 Crore compared to a negative Rs 215.73 Crore in the prior year, a significant improvement. Short-term borrowings were reduced substantially from Rs 706.80 Crore to Rs 374.38 Crore.
Strong bottom-line growth with PAT up 47.6% and a clean unqualified audit opinion are positives. The large inventory buildup and relatively flat revenue growth (vs inflated base) warrant monitoring. Shareholders should note the warrant forfeiture gain is non-recurring.
