MRC Agrotech has signed a 5-year Collaboration and Licence Agreement with Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi on 17 July 2026. BHU granted the company a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to produce, process, package, market and sell Foundation, Certified and Truthfully Labelled seeds of wheat variety HUW 838, developed by BHU's Institute of Agricultural Sciences. IP and breeder rights remain with BHU. The deal is renewable by mutual consent and is expected to strengthen the company seed portfolio.
