Mrs. Bectors clarifies CCPA fine of Rs 1 lakh on 100% Atta bread labelling

Mrs. Bectors clarified that CCPA imposed Rs 1 lakh penalty on June 9, 2026 for using 100 percent Atta label on its bread. Company says CCPA misinterpreted the claim since bread necessarily contains other ingredients like water, yeast, salt. The atta content disclosed was about 87 percent, above the 75 percent minimum. Company is seeking legal advice to appeal the order. It has already applied to FSSAI to voluntarily phase out the 100 percent descriptor within six months. No material financial impact.
