MSTC Limited filed the transcript of its Q4 FY25 earnings call held on May 30, 2025. Standalone PAT jumped to INR402.98 crores from INR171.92 crores in FY24, driven largely by an exceptional gain of INR263.19 crores from the divestment of subsidiary FSNL (sale proceeds of ~INR320 crores). Core business was weak — total revenue fell to INR387.50 crores from INR416.59 crores, and profit before exceptional items declined to INR240.71 crores from INR284.44 crores, partly because no FSNL dividend (INR25.6 crores prior year) was received. EPS rose to INR57.24 from INR24.42. Management highlighted new business wins: regaining Coal India e-auction contract, selection for 730 FM channel auctions across 234 cities (Ministry of I&B), Telangana e-commerce agreement, offshore mineral blocks, and upcoming equipment leasing portal and small ERP products. EBITDA margins to be maintained at similar levels; MMRPL JV expected to turn profitable in 2-3 years.
Headline PAT surge is largely a one-time FSNL divestment windfall and not reflective of operational performance, which remained flat. Investors should track the Coal India contract, new portal launches (leasing, ERP), and private sector client additions for real growth signals. Steady-state tax rate guided at ~25% under the new lower tax regime.
