Munjal Auto Industries has sent a final reminder to shareholders whose Final Dividend for FY 2017-18 (declared on 25 August 2018) has remained unpaid/unclaimed for seven or more years. Under Section 124(5) and 124(6) of the Companies Act, 2013, such unclaimed dividend and the corresponding shares are liable to be transferred to the Investor Education and Protection Fund (IEPF) Authority, with the due date for transfer set as 1 October 2025. Shareholders have been asked to respond by 25 August 2025, after which the company will initiate the IEPF transfer process and no further requests will be entertained. The letter also advises physical-share holders to update KYC details with the RTA and to dematerialise their holdings.
Shareholders who have not claimed the FY 2017-18 final dividend must act before 25 August 2025, otherwise their dividend and linked shares will be permanently transferred to the IEPF, after which recovery becomes a longer and more cumbersome process. This is a routine compliance filing and is unlikely to have a material impact on the stock price.
