N G Industries Ltd reported its H1 FY26 results with total income of Rs. 828.28 lakhs, down from Rs. 1,159.73 lakhs in H1 FY25. Net sales for the half year came in at Rs. 774.68 lakhs versus Rs. 808.17 lakhs last year, a modest decline of about 4%. Profit after tax fell sharply to Rs. 62.15 lakhs (H1 FY25: Rs. 346.24 lakhs) and EPS dropped to Rs. 1.81 from Rs. 10.33, mainly because dividend income and capital gains from investments (classified as 'Other Income') dropped from Rs. 351.56 lakhs to Rs. 53.50 lakhs. For Q2 FY26 standalone, the company posted net sales of Rs. 408.52 lakhs and PAT of Rs. 42.73 lakhs (EPS Rs. 1.28), an improvement over Q1 FY26 but well below Q2 FY25. The statutory auditor M.R. Singhwi & Co issued an unmodified limited review report, and the company stated there are no exceptional items to report.
The sharp drop in profitability is driven by lower investment-related income rather than a core business collapse, but shareholders will see much weaker headline earnings compared to last year. Stock price sentiment may be negative given the steep YoY decline in PAT and EPS, though core operating cash flow remained positive at Rs. 152.72 lakhs.
