The Board of NHIT's Investment Manager approved several key items. The valuer has determined the value for two new highway stretches in Round 5 — Amravati-Chikhali-Tarsod and Gundugolanu-Chinna Avutapalli. NHIT plans to raise funds by issuing up to 20.17 crore units through an institutional placement and/or a preferential issue to NHAI, subject to NHAI accepting the Round 5 asset offer and unitholder approval. The Board also approved recommending an additional distribution to unitholders beyond the regular policy, and a variation in the use of proceeds from the earlier Round 3 fundraising. A unitholders' Extra-Ordinary Meeting has been called for March 6, 2026 to seek approvals for the acquisition, unit issuance, additional distribution, variation in Round 3 proceeds, and a revision in statutory auditor remuneration.
If approved, the acquisition will expand NHIT's toll-road portfolio and the additional distribution is a positive signal of cash flow strength for unitholders, though final execution depends on NHAI acceptance and unitholder voting at the March 6, 2026 EOM.
