NSDL reported its unaudited financial results for Q1 FY26. On a standalone basis, total income rose 21.68% YoY to Rs. 190.4 crore from Rs. 156.5 crore, while net profit after tax grew 24.01% to Rs. 82.6 crore from Rs. 66.6 crore. On a consolidated basis, total income fell 4.95% YoY to Rs. 346.8 crore, though consolidated PAT still grew 15.16% to Rs. 89.6 crore. The company's demat account market share jumped from 9.4% to 15.5%, crossing 4 crore accounts, and it maintained an 86.6% market share in total demat custody value.
Strong standalone growth and rising market share in demat accounts are positives for the stock, but the dip in consolidated revenue (due to weaker performance at subsidiaries NSDL Payments Bank and NDML) is something investors should watch closely.
