Nava Limited has announced a temporary shutdown of both furnaces at its Ferro Alloys Plant (FAP) in Odisha, starting April 1, 2026, for approximately three months. The shutdown is for mid-life structural inspection and maintenance, as the furnaces have been in operation for over 25 years. During this period, the 30 MW Captive Power Plant at the same unit will continue operating and sell power to the grid under bilateral contracts. The company expects higher power sale realizations due to peak summer demand, which it says will offset the impact of the furnace shutdown. The company has stated it does not anticipate any material adverse impact on its financial performance.
The shutdown is planned and proactive, and the company expects no material adverse impact since captive power sales during summer may partly compensate. Shareholders should monitor for updates on resumption timelines, as any extension beyond three months could affect ferro alloy production and revenues.
