Nazara Technologies has acquired 100% of UK-based video game publisher Curve Digital Entertainment for INR 247 crores (GBP 21.7 million) in an all-cash deal. Curve publishes games across PC and console platforms (PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, Switch) and owns two development studios — Iron Oak (For The King franchise) and Runner Duck (Crew franchise). The company had 55 employees as of December 2024, with operations mainly in the UK and Canada. Curve's financials show revenue declining from GBP 29.9 million in CY22 to GBP 24.4 million in CY24, though EBITDA remained stable at around GBP 10.6-10.9 million and PBT improved to GBP 4.6 million in CY24. Management said the acquisition strengthens Nazara's global publishing capabilities, expands beyond mobile into cross-platform gaming, and acts as a gateway for Indian game developers to reach international markets.
This is a growth-oriented acquisition that broadens Nazara's presence into the PC and console gaming segment, complementing its mobile-focused business. Shareholders should note the deal is all-cash, which may impact short-term liquidity, but it adds proven IP and publishing infrastructure to support long-term global expansion.
