Neogen Chemicals' board approved its Q1 FY26 (quarter ended June 30, 2025) standalone and consolidated results along with the auditor's limited review report. Standalone revenue from operations rose modestly to Rs. 184.58 crore (vs Rs. 176.34 crore restated YoY) and standalone PAT was Rs. 14.23 crore (vs Rs. 13.94 crore restated). Consolidated revenue was Rs. 186.73 crore with PAT of Rs. 10.26 crore (down from Rs. 11.47 crore restated). Prior period figures were restated following the merger of wholly owned subsidiary Buli Chemicals India, effective January 31, 2025. The auditor flagged an Emphasis of Matter on the March 2025 fire at the Dahej SEZ plant, where Rs. 348.16 crore (standalone) of losses were largely offset by an insurance claim; Rs. 50 crore was received in Q1 and Rs. 30 crore post-quarter. Founder Chairman & MD Haridas Kanani will retire on September 30, 2025 and be conferred Chairman Emeritus; Anurag Surana will take over as Chairman. The board also approved an additional Rs. 125 crore corporate guarantee for wholly owned subsidiary Neogen Ionics, fund-raising of up to Rs. 200 crore via NCDs, re-appointment of a Whole Time Director, and a new Executive Director appointment. The 36th AGM is set for September 26, 2025 with record date of September 19, 2025 for the final dividend.
Results are mixed – modest revenue growth on a restated basis but consolidated PAT declined ~10.5% YoY, likely weighed down by the subsidiary's losses. Investors should watch insurance recovery progress (Rs. 254 crore still receivable), the leadership transition at the founder level, and the increased guarantee/debt commitments for Neogen Ionics, which raise contingent obligations for the parent.
