Nestle India reported Q1 FY26 (ended June 30, 2025) total sales of ₹5,074 crore, up 5.9% year-on-year, with domestic sales growing 5.5%. Net profit stood at ₹659.2 crore, declining from ₹746.6 crore in Q1 FY25, while EPS was ₹6.84 versus ₹7.74. EBITDA margin contracted to 21.7% of sales (from ~23.2% a year ago), as raw material costs rose to 45.0% of sales from 42.5%, and higher finance costs from short-term borrowings also weighed on earnings. The company returned to volume-led growth in three of four product groups — Prepared Dishes, Beverages, and Confectionery — with seven of twelve top brands growing at double-digit rates. Separately, Mr. Manish Tiwary has been appointed Chairman and Managing Director effective August 1, 2025, replacing Mr. Suresh Narayanan who retires on July 31, 2025. The statutory auditors issued an unmodified (clean) review report on the results. A final dividend of ₹10 per share for FY25 is being paid from July 24, 2025.
Modest topline growth and a leadership transition are the key takeaways; however, shrinking margins due to commodity cost pressure and higher finance costs led to a double-digit decline in net profit, which may temper short-term investor sentiment despite the return to volume growth.
