Nexome Capital Markets (formerly SMIFS Capital Markets) reported audited standalone results for FY25. Total income fell sharply to ₹4,421.82 lakhs from ₹23,967.85 lakhs in the previous year, driven by a steep drop in operations from ₹21,394.02 lakhs to ₹3,920.39 lakhs (~82% YoY decline). Standalone net profit after tax stood at ₹117.96 lakhs versus ₹241.09 lakhs last year (down ~51%), with EPS at ₹2.07 vs ₹4.32. The company recorded an exceptional item of ₹58.53 lakhs as a provision for an old outstanding amount deposited with City Civil Court-Bombay deemed unrecoverable. Consolidated PAT was ₹116.65 lakhs. Total comprehensive income, boosted by fair-value gains on equity investments, rose to ₹2,021.69 lakhs from ₹1,160.12 lakhs. Operating cash flow remained negative at ₹(624.34) lakhs. The company also completed a preferential allotment of 2.92 lakh equity shares and 19.20 lakh warrants in October 2024, raising ₹4.94 crores (part of ₹14.16 crores total).
The sharp decline in operating revenue and profit, coupled with persistent negative operating cash flows, signals weak core business momentum for shareholders. However, rising investment values lifted overall comprehensive income, and the preferential fundraising strengthens the equity base. Auditor's Emphasis of Matter on the preferential issue and the court-deposit provision warrants close attention.
