Nexome Capital Markets Ltd (formerly SMIFS Capital Markets) announced its unaudited financial results for the quarter and half year ended September 30, 2025. Standalone total income grew to Rs. 899.89 lakhs in Q2 FY26 from Rs. 721.25 lakhs a year ago, while net profit after tax jumped to Rs. 133.43 lakhs from Rs. 25.80 lakhs. For H1 FY26, net profit surged to Rs. 261.38 lakhs versus Rs. 62.69 lakhs in H1 FY25, driven mainly by a sharp rise in Investment Banking Operations revenue (Rs. 788.71 lakhs vs Rs. 38.48 lakhs). The company recognised an expected credit loss on a loan and a fair valuation loss on its investment portfolio. The Board also approved the appointment of Ms. Sanjana Gupta as Company Secretary cum Compliance Officer with effect from November 4, 2025, and noted the incorporation of a new wholly owned subsidiary, Nexome Wealth Management Limited, on July 22, 2025.
Strong profit growth on the back of investment banking activity is positive for shareholders, though concerns remain around credit losses on loans and valuation losses on investments. The new subsidiary signals expansion into wealth management and advisory services.
