NHPC Ltd has declared Commercial Operation (CoD) of Unit# 4 (250 MW) of the Subansiri Lower HE Project from midnight on May 8, 2026. This is a major hydro-electric project with a total capacity of 2000 MW (8 units of 250 MW each) located in Assam/Arunachal Pradesh. With this commissioning, four units (Unit# 1, 2, 3, and 4) totalling 1000 MW are now operational. The remaining four units are yet to achieve CoD, with updates to be provided in due course. This follows a series of previous unit commissions starting from October 2023.
