NIBE Limited successfully test-fired its SURYASTRA Universal Rocket Launcher System at ITR Chandipur, Odisha on May 18-19, 2026. The company had received a purchase order in January 2026 under the Emergency Procurement of Indian Army for supplying the SURYASTRA system along with rockets of 150 Km and 300 Km range. The trials showed exceptional precision with a Circular Error Probable (CEP) of 1.5 meters at 150 Km range and 2 meters at 300 Km range. This validates the SURYASTRA's long-range precision strike capability and represents a milestone in indigenous rocket artillery development.
The successful test firing validates NIBE's capability to deliver on its Indian Army contract and strengthens its position in the defence sector, potentially opening doors for future orders from the government or export opportunities.
