NIIT Limited shared its Q1 FY26 results with analysts and institutional investors. Net revenue stood at INR 841 Mn, up 2% year-on-year but down 3% from the previous quarter, with organic revenue declining 4% YoY. Order intake was a bright spot at INR 1,065 Mn, growing 37% YoY and 44% QoQ, though delays in client decision-making hurt execution. Profitability weakened sharply, with EBITDA slipping into a INR 63 Mn loss (vs INR 2 Mn loss last year) and PAT falling 44% YoY to INR 44 Mn. During the quarter, the company acquired a 70% stake in iamneo and raised its holding in NIIT IFBI to 100%, incurring INR 19 Mn in exceptional expenses. The Technology segment grew 7% YoY while the BFSI segment shrank 9% YoY, reflecting broader weakness in banking and IT hiring.
Shareholders face a mixed picture: strong order pipeline and strategic acquisitions signal future growth, but near-term margin pressure and a sharp PAT decline may weigh on the stock in the short term. The treasury income of INR 176 Mn is masking underlying operational weakness.
