Nippon Life India Asset Management (NAM INDIA) has allotted 7,60,691 equity shares of Rs. 10 face value to employees under four stock option schemes. The largest tranche was under the ESOP 2017 plan (5,81,015 shares at Rs. 202.50 per share), followed by ESOP 2019 (1,63,490 shares at grant prices ranging from Rs. 223.32 to Rs. 372.71). Smaller allotments were made under ESOP 2023 (5,985 shares at Rs. 499.76) and the Performance Linked Stock Unit Scheme 2023 (10,201 shares at Rs. 10). As a result, the company's paid-up equity share capital increased from Rs. 637.36 crore to Rs. 638.12 crore, with total issued shares rising to 63,81,15,996. The new shares will rank equally with existing shares in all respects.
This is a routine ESOP allotment and is mildly dilutive for existing shareholders. The impact is small — the new shares represent roughly 0.12% of the expanded share capital — so it is unlikely to materially affect the stock price or shareholder value.
